“A tool.” Most tools come with safeguards or clear consequences for their misuse: GenAI has neither. Lots have been said about the environmental damage and plagiarism inherent to it, but the ethical tone-deafness of recklessly pushing an anti-human “tool” at a crucial historical juncture marked by division, runaway capitalism and governments serving corporations rather than people, and to still try to pass it off as a boon for humanity… is an abomination. I do believe there is a way for technology to help us in the future, but this ain’t it. Keep resisting!

I am always relieved/extatic when I see a fellow “luddite” in this fight. Too many people “embrace” this stuff uncritically. Wonderful comic! Keep creating yourself!!!!!

The worst part is, people who use “tools” like ChatGPT lose the ability to think or do research on their own. People who use AI to write or draw or research for them believe that it CAN’T be done without AI, and refuse to believe anyone who says they don’t use it.
We’re going wind up being a society where a handful of people actually know how to do things, and everyone else relies on AI to do all their thinking and creating for them.
