Reminds me of a call I got, back when answering machines still used cassette tapes to record messages. I’d left a gag outgoing message on my machine, where it sounded like I actually answered, but was having trouble hearing the caller, before admitting it was an answering machine.
A frined (who had the habit of being VERY talkative) called, heard the first part of the outgoing message, started talking, and filled the entire tape before the machine ended the call. ^_^
