Think of the children
I originally wrote and published this one before Romulus came out, and that movie more or less addressed this. But my personal feeling is that the facehuggers and the xenomorphs, as awesome and scary as they both are… don’t really belong together!
You can find my latest comics over at Patreon and Ko-fi, weeks (months now!) before they are published here and on social media. Thank you for supporting my work!
The thing about the xenomorph that I understand from Alien (and I think Romulus does not contradict) is that they are not an eusocial species, they are a bioweapon that was likely created by a very ancient civilization that died and left a batch of what are essentially living shells which would be dropped anywhere they wanted to created a xenomorph and leave it to exterminate whatever the facehugger can infect.
By the way, I do love the pallette of this comic.
That makes better sense, a sort of death seed, though maybe that sort of backstory didn’t exist back in the first movies (what with the queen in Aliens and all) and more part of elements that Prometheus/Covenant introduced. But I do like it, it makes better sense that it’d be a targeted one and done sort of deal.
And thanks! I don’t know why I decided to get cute with the coloring, it probably doesn’t make much sense in terms of light sources, but I do like how it turned out.
