His brothers went to do a major city plumbing job and never came home.
He since then has went on to to only smaller jobs for apartments and homes. He sometimes wonders what happened to his brothers but he can forget the look the cops gave him when he asked.
“We miss him, but…” Mario said in one of the rare instances where Roberto’s name came up, “…he just loved Brooklyn. He was happy being a plumber. Me and Luigi, we wanted something more. But Roberto, he would’ve hated the Mushroom Kingdom.”
“I can almost picture him, all ‘here we go again, jumping on giant spiky geckos’,” said Luigi. “No sense of adventure, he was the most excited when we landed a corporate gig. Love him to pieces but he would’ve been miserable here driving karts and playing baseball with ghosts and apes.”
After a few seconds of silence, Mario did admit they shouldn’t have left like that.
“We should’ve said goodbye. Bob probably thinks we made a face to the wrong people and now we’re at the bottom of the river. Hope he’s doing well…”

Poor Roberto…
