The best of times, the worst of times
This comic appeared in Port Sherry – Issue 6, back in July. Chappie actually ended up needing another round of meds (he hurt his leg), but he’s been fine for a while now and still perking up when we get near the medicine cabinet.
The much delayed Port Sherry – Issue 9 (October) is out now! 7 brand new comics, a strange mix of somber, darker stories that will see the light of day here until March 2021. You can find it now as a reward for Patreon members ($3 and up tiers, I recommend signing up in a few days, when November starts, to get a month’s worth of benefits too), or directly for purchase through Gumroad. Check the links in my bio and highlights to find it. And check issues 7 and 8 too, also available on Gumroad!
When I was a kid we had this old, fat grey tabby who hated people and spent most of his day avoiding the family. We could only summon him with cans of tuna. He could somehow distinguish between tuna vs any other canned food we had.
The facial expression and the body language in the last panel! Priceless!
Our cat, Curly, caught sporotrichosis. First time trying to force the capsule into her mouth was a horror and I got scratched and bitten (which was scary as sporotrichosis is a zoonotic disease… fortunately, I didn’t catch it.)
But my daughter figured out – they used tubes of lickable treats, opening the capsules and mixing the medicine powder with the lickables in a spoon and letting Curly lick the treats (with the medicine). No more fuss, no more fights. She eats the entire dose each time now!
