Am I back? I think I am.
I don’t know. Remakes can be good: Resident Evil on the Gamecube is fantastic. But I still play from time to time the original on the PSOne too. People clamor for all kinds of readily available games to be remade, as if they were currently unplayable. Can’t think of any other medium so OK with burying hundreds of works every few years.

PS: No hate toward FFVII, hope they do a good job. The conversation surrounding it, though: people are missing out on some great stuff out there just because it’s not in HD.
Is it weird that the first thing I thought here was, “Oh, hey, Anger got his own video game.”?
Problem is, the gamers are more graphics orientated.
Like most games or consoles advertise the grapics than game mechanics.
And who doesnt like a upgraded game, better gaphics with a story or mechanic that you know you liked.
Ironically, the FFVII remake is probably going to be one of the better examples of how a remake can add value to an already beloved game experience. The demos we’ve seen all showcase a *dramatic* increase in visual fidelity, and an Action RPG style of gameplay that’s more engaging than the menu-driven combat of the original. Don’t get me wrong, FFVII was one of my favorites of the PS1 era, but I doubt you’ll find anyone willing to argue that holding the circle button to spam the Attack command is challenging gameplay.
