Memories of CVC
CVC (acronym for “Quality, Value and Convenience” in spanish) folded very shortly afterwards: it didn’t even reached the full year. Since most items were imported, recession hit the channel hard and was never to be seen again.
Me and my friend might be alone in this, but we were heavly indoctrinated by Nintendo’s official magazine on the dangers of removing cartridges while a console was still on. I remember cringing and dying a little inside when I saw my cousin changing games that way on his SNES (just pushing the reset button afterwards). Maybe it was a common practice and the odds of damaging the cartridge were always slim, but to us it was always a HUGE no-no.
Have a nice day!

Nice I like
That is still a law with me. Be it xbox or anything I turn off the console before putting in a different game.
Whoa, Xbox, really? I kinda remember I stopped doing it (with some measure of fear, of course) with the PSOne.
I remembered the day I discovered my dad’s manual Ford truck could shift up without clutching, if I was careful. I felt like Batman for the next week.
I would always fly out of my chair whenever someone were to push down the cartridge in the NES to have it pop up or remove GB/N64 cartrigdes without having powered the system off. Frankly, I still stop and think for a second when removing 3DS games, even though I’m in the main menu (with the game closed).
