Bit of a back story. My GF got a very cool calendar from her bestie, with a different piece of art every day from the Metropolitan Museum in NYC.
Today’s image is this one, by Mary Cassatt.
My first reaction was how much *affection* Cassatt put into drawing the little girl’s face.
My second reaction was that I’ve seen the same affection in your depictions of your pets, and perhaps no more so than in this cartoon, which remains both my GF’s and my favorite among all of your work.
@Scott, aw, I can’t see the image! What’s the name of the piece?
My wife tells me I’m very partial to Maddy when it comes to drawing our pets, but I like to think every time it’s a chance to show all of their personalities, something that never in a million years come across in photos, yet it’s the thing that always jumps at me living with them.
And thank you for telling me this one is your favorite, I would have never guessed someone liked it that much!
So recognisable 🙂

Belated response to you, Pedro.
The Cassatt painting is “Young Mother Sewing,” and it’s here .
Huh, looks like something automagically removed the URL.
Anyway, you can find it on the Met’s site.
