I have a theory.
Rainbows, as we all know, are made of light. The light starts at the Sun, is refracted through raindrops, is detected by eyes (or cameras), and the image passes to the mind, which sees something wonderful.
That is the gold at the end of the rainbow: the ability to see beauty and wonder.
