A puss in boots is a remarkable creature indeed
Puss in boots has such a weird moral, as the beneficiary of all its trickery, deceit and wit isn’t even the cat itself. It works better as a greek comedy than an actual fairy tale.
I could’ve kept going but I decided to stay with the boots, which the cat specifically asked for. Why boots? Nobody knows! Perrault came up with them, they weren’t there in previous versions.
