Colorful neighborhood characters
This one is bittersweet for me. I wrote it a few months ago and pretty much immediately discarded it, feeling it was too “private joke” for publication. I quickly forgot about it and that was that.
I stumbled upon the sketch recently and it hit me with a whole different set of feelings: after 18 years, my wife and I finally moved to a different place, so I no longer live in that neighborhood. The sketch went from being this cute observational thing to a legit time capsule… and it choked me up a little bit! I decided to finish the comic as a sort of love letter to that place we called home for so many years… and all its quirky weirdos.

We usually mind our own business! But yeah it was hard not to notice some of these and we grew to be fond of them (except guitar dude).
