A reply, maybe?
It’s ok if referencing email here seems like a 1993 boomer joke. I just liked how definite the rejection of his only hope was. I’m starting to think the castaway on a desert island joke is my personal Itchy and Scratchy: I keep finding ways of making those guys miserable. I wrote another similar comic almost simultaneously, and it’s just as cruel (coming up in four weeks).
Oh and that title: I used to get really excited when I saw a new email notification, thinking someone had already replied to my message shortly after I sent it, only to find it had bounced. There are now misleading app notifications and such, but I don’t think there is anything now as crushing as that particular situation…
